Lavastus loodi 2007. aastal Prantsuse esineja ja koreograafi Alice Chauchat poolt koostöös Horvaatia esinejatega Eks-Scena residentsi ajal Zagrebis.
The work was created in 2007 by the French performer and choreographer Alice Chauchat in collaboration with Croatian performers during an artistic residence at Eks-Scena in Zagreb.
The Love Piece pakub installatiivset keskkonda 20-le inimesele, kellest moodustub pilkude teater. Sisenedes võtab esineja vaataja käekõrvale ja etenduse jooksul annab esineja edasi oma armastust oma publikule. See, mida selline armastus võiks tähendada, ongi etenduse teemaks. The Love Piece on üleskutse kogeda etendust kui tunnete kohtumispaika, kusjuures publik võtab osa emotsioonide vahetusest. Lavastus toodab lähedust ilma meid ehmatamata – sellist, mis tuleb otse südamest, küsides koos Briti bändi Whitesnake’iga: Is it love that I am feeling?
Nino Bokan on filosoofia- ja sotsioloogiatudeng. Ta omandab kogemusi osaledes tantsu ja teatri töötubades ning projektides erinevate Horvaatia ja rahvusvaheliste kunstnike ja tantsukompaniide juures.
Alice Chauchat elab Berliinis ja Pariisis, töötab koreograafi, esineja ja õppejõu/lektorina. Õppis C.N.S.M.-is Lyonis ja P.A.R.T.S.-is. Ta töötab sageli koostööd nõudvates kooslustes, arendades arvukaid koreograafilisi projekte ja teadmistepõhiseid, infovahetusega tegelevaid etenduskunstide platvorme. Ta on Les Laboratoires d’Aubervilleiers’i, Pariisi eeslinnades paikneva kunstiuurungute keskuse kunstiline juht.
Pravdan Devlahović võttis oma esimesed tantsutunnid aastatel 1995–1999 Kilina Cremona Cunninghami tantsutehnika klassides. Ta on üks kollektiivi BADco asutajatest, milles ta ka esineb ja osaleb koreograafina. Esinejana on ta töötanud selliste koreograafidega nagu Irma Omerzo (MARMOT), Sandra Banić–Naumovski, Selma Banich (OOUR). Ta töötab Zagrebi Draamakunstide Akadeemias Näitlejate Lavalise Liikumise osakonnas.
Zvonimir Kvesić alustas jazz – ja stepptantsuga Zagrebis, kus ta enne edasisi õpinguid Rotterdami Tantsuakadeemias jätkas kaasaegse tantsu ja balletiga. Peale lõpetamist on ta esinenud Hollandis, Portugalis ja Horvaatias, kus ta nüüd töötab vabakutselise kunstnikuna koostöös Horvaatia ja väliskunstnikega, kelle hulka kuuluvad M. Farič, M. Preis, D. Harjaček, I. Višak, M. W. Smith, F. Gies. Ta annab ka regulaarselt tantsutunde.
Ivana Pavlovic alustas oma tantsuharidust Zagrebi Noorsooteatris, võttis kaasaegse tantsu tunde, osales töötubades ja residentuurides Horvaatia ja välisartistide juures. Ta on osalenud erinevates projektides ja teinud koostööd selliste artistidega nagu Selma Banich, Alice Chauchat, Natalija Manojlovic, tantsustuudioga Liberdance ja Rina Koturiga. Ta on lõpetanud muusikakooli ja Zagrebi Ülikooli psühholoogia osakonna.
Ivana Rončević on tantsija. Ta omandas oma kunstilise hariduse Inter-University Centre for Dance juures (pilootprojekti Kaasaegne tants, koreograafia ja kontekst raames) ja on lõpetanud Zagrebi Ülikooli psühholoogia osakonna. Alates 2004. aastast on ta osalenud erinevates kunstilistes ja hariduslikes projektides, sealhulgas tehes kaastööd Selma Banichi, Sonja Pregradi, OOURi, Alice Chauchat, Isabelle Schadi ja Frédéric Gies’iga.
Nina Sakić on käinud balletikoolis, osalenud jazz- ja kaasaegse tantsu klassides, töötubades ja residentuurides. On osalenud erinevates projektides esineja ja kaasautorina (sealhulgas tehes koostööd Milana Broši, Selma Banichi, Rina Koturi, Post Theatre’iga, Nensi Lazići, Rajko Pavlići, Nikolina Georgieva ja Velimir Veleviga). Ta lõpetas Zagrebi Ülikooli filosoofia fakulteedi, omandades kraadi inglise ja hispaania keeles.
Taavet Jansen on koreograaf, programmeerija ja interdistsiplinaarne kunstnik, kes töötab paralleelselt teatris, elektroonilises kunstis ja audiovisuaalia maastikel. Töötanud koos paljude rahvusvaheliselt tunnustatud ja tunnustamata kunstnike ja institutsioonidega. 2008. aastal lõpetas Amsterdami Teatrikooli Dance Unlimited magistriprogrammi.
Jarmo Karing on vabakutseline koreograaf, kes on keskendunud oma loomingus minimalistlikule etenduskunstile. Hariduse saanud Tallinna Ülikoolis koreograafia erialal. Hetkel täiendab end Tartu Ülikoolis kultuurikorralduse erialal. Ta on kaasaegse tantsutrupi ZUGA ühendatud tantsijate liige, teinud koostööd Thomas Lehmeni ja tantsukompanii Rubato-ga.
Mihkel Ilus on omandanud klassikalise maalikunsti hariduse Tartu Ülikoolis professor Jaan Elkeni käe all. Maaliõpinguid jätkab ta hetkel Eesti Kunstiakadeemia magistrantuuris. Huvi kaasaegsete etenduskunstide vastu on avaldunud viimase aja töödes There is no Japan (kuraatorid- Jaan Toomik, BBB Johannes Deimling) ja etenduses Kapriisid (kahasse koreograaf Henri Hütiga, Kanuti Gildi SAAL)
The Love Piece provides an installational set-up for 20 people, which establishes a theatre of the gaze. As they come in, the spectators are taken by the hand by a performer who for the duration of the show will “give love” to his/her audience. What this love can be, is at stake in the piece. The Love Piece is an invitation to experience the performance as an affective encounter, with the audience sharing in the production of the emotional exchange. It produces intimacy without intimidation, direct and straight to the heart: “Is this love that I am feeling?” to ask in the manner of the British band Whitesnake?
Nino Bokan is a student of philosophy and sociology. He accumulates experience by participating in dance and theater workshops and projects with various Croatian and international artists and companies.
Alice Chauchat lives in Berlin and Paris and works as choreographer, performer and teacher/lecturer. She studied at the C.N.S.M. of Lyon and at P.A.R.T.S. She often works in collaborative set-ups, developing numerous choreographic projects and platforms for knowledge production and exchange in the performing arts. She is currently artistic co-director of Les Laboratoires d'Aubervilliers, a center for artistic research in the Parisian suburbs.
Pravdan Devlahović took his first dance classes between 1995 and 1999, including Cunningham technique classes with Kilina Cremona. He is one of the founders of the performance collective BADco, for which he performs and choreographs. As a performer he has also collaborated with choreographers Irma Omerzo (MARMOT), Sandra Banić–Naumovski, Selma Banich (OOUR). He works as a dance pedagogue at the Academy of Drama Arts in Zagreb in the Department for Movement for Actors.
Zvonimir Kvesić started dancing jazz dance and tap in Zagreb where he continued with contemporary dance and ballet before he studied at the Rotterdam Dance Academy. After graduating, he performed in Holland, Portugal and Croatia where he now works as a freelance artist with Croatian and foreign artists - M. Farič, M. Preis, D. Harjaček, I. Višak, M. W. Smith, F. Gies. He also regularly teaches dance classes.
Ivana Pavlovic started her dance education at the Zagreb Youth Theatre, took contemporary dance classes, workshops and residencies with Croatian and various international choreographers and dancers. She has performed in various projects and collaborated with artists such as Selma Banich, Alice Chauchat, Natalija Manojlovic, dance studio Liberdance, or Rina Kotur. She finished elementary music school and graduated at the Department of Psychology at the University of Zagreb.

Taavet Jansen is a choreographer, programmer and interdisciplinary artist, who works simultaneously in the theatre, electronic art and audiovisual landscape. He has worked together with many internationally recognized and unrecognized artists and institutions. In 2008, he graduated from the Dance Unlimited master’s program at the Amsterdam Theatre School.
Jarmo Karing is a freelance choreographer who is focused on minimalist performance art. He received his education in choreography from Tallinn University. He is a member of the united dancers of ZUGA and has collaborated with Thomas Lehmen and the Rubato Dance Company.
Mihkel Ilus has acquired an education in classical painting at the University of Tartu, under the guidance of Jaan Elken. He is currently continuing his painting studies at master’s program of the Estonian Academy of Arts. His interest in contemporary performance art has been expressed in his recent work There is No Japan (curators: Jaan Toomik, BBB Johannes Deimling) and performance Caprices (co-choreographer Henri Hütt, production by Kanuti Gildi SAAL)
