a.pass-i kunstnikud on dialoogis hotelliga läbi peente interventsioonide. Nende tööd on loodud koostöös lugemissessioonidega nädalase töötoa Külalislahkus ja võõrandumine raames ja asetavad küsimuse alla liikumise ja kohtumiste loogika hotellikoridorides. Kes on külaline ja kes on võõrustaja selles keskkonnas? Milline on minu privaatruum ja milline on etikett ja selle reeglid? Kuidas ma suhtun teistesse ja mis alusel? Mõned nende sekkumised on avalikud, mõned aga kummituslikult nähtamatud, mõnede külastamine on ette nähtud vaid kutsetega. Keskne jälgederuum (trace space) jäädvustab töötoa ja trupi poolt läbitud trajektoore ning pakub sissevaate käsitluse all olevatest kunstilistest teemadest.
a.pass on kunstiline uurimiskeskkond magistrikraadi järgsel tasemel, mis on avatud nii kunstnikele kui teoreetikutele. a.pass pakub eksperimentaalset ruumi ja tööriistu, et arendada uurimisoskusi koostöös loodud teadmispõhises keskkonnas. Iga uurija saab tõlkida oma isikliku projekti konkreetselt sobituvasse programmi.
The a.pass artists negotiate the hotel through subtle interventions. Their works are created through dialogue during the reading sessions of their week-long workshop Hospitality and Estrangement and question the logic of mobility and encounter in the hotel corridors. Who is the guest and who is the host in this environment? What is my private space and what are the rules of etiquette? How do I relate to others and on what grounds? Some of their interventions are public, some of them ghostly (in-)visible, some can only be visited on invitation. The central trace space documents the workshop and the trajectory of the group and provides insight into the artistic issues at stake.
a.pass is an artistic research environment at the post-master level, open to artists and theoreticians. a.pass offers an experimental space and instruments to develop research skills in a shared and collaboratively created knowledge-based environment. Every researcher can translate his personal project into a tailor-made curriculum.
