NU Performance Festival IV: On Hospitality

NU Performance
Festival IV: On Hospitality
7.-10.11.2011 Sokos Hotel Viru

In this year's edition, the NU Performance Festival leaves behind the theatre scene and conquers the stage of the everyday: from November 7 - 10, 2011, we exclusively host the biannual for international contemporary performance and theatre in the Viru hotel.
More than 35 performance artists are present for four days and show work that has been adapted and originally created for the hotel's premises. NU Performance Festival is part of the program of Tallinn - European Capital of Culture 2011. Curators Silke Bake and Peter Stamer have selected and commissioned work by internationally acclaimed theatre makers and performers which revolves around the notion and practice of hospitality. What does it mean to be a guest? What is the performance of hospitality? What are its gestures? How to welcome the stranger? How to share togetherness? These are some of the questions which are proposed by the festival, its social events, performances, interventions, installations.

By and with: BEIDE MESSIES/Andreas Müller (GER) & Bo Wiget (CH), TOXIC DREAMS/Yosi Wanunu (IL) & Michael Strohmann (A), ELKE VAN CAMPENHOUT (B) & ONG KEN SENG (SG), A.PASS (B), KALLE & ELEONORA TIKAS (EST), ALICE CHAUCHAT (F), NINO BOKAN (HR), PRAVDAN DEVLAHOVIC (HR), ZVONIMIR KVESIC (HR), IVANA PAVLOVIC (HR), IVANA RONCEVIC (HR), NINA SAKI (HR) TAAVET JANSEN (EST), JARMO KARING (EST), MIHKEL ILUS (EST), DEEP BLUE/Heine Rosdal Avdal (NO/B) & Yukiko Shinozaki (JP/B), KAJA KANN (EST), PME-ART/Jacob Wren (CND), JUAN DOMINGUEZ (E), and many more guests.
