Festival kutsub rühma noori a.pass-i kunstnikke (advanced performance and scenography studies) nädal aega kestvassse töötuppa. Koos kuraator Ong Keng Seni ja uurija Elke Van Campenhoutiga võtavad osalejad ette teekonna, mis on seotud kultuuridevaheliste kokkusaamistega. Rahvusvahelise hotelliga taustsüsteemis esitab see grupp küsimusi külalislahkuse kui žesti kohta, mis on tugevalt kujundatud globalisatsiooni ja majandusliku võõrandumise poolt. Kes on nähtav ja kes ei ole? Kellega saame me samastuda ja kes on eraldiseisev meie maailmanägemusest? Millisel hetkel toodab ühtekokku kogunemise majandus „võõraid“, tumedaid tunnustamata tsoone, mis muudavad igasuguse vahetuse võimatuks?
The festival invites a group of emerging artists coming from a.pass (advanced performance and scenography studies) to a week-long workshop. Together with curator Ong Keng Sen and artistic researcher Elke Van Campenhout, the participants make a journey bound to questions of intercultural encounter. With the international hotel as a backdrop, the group questions the notions of hospitality as a gesture that is strongly formatted by globalization and economic estrangement. Who is visible, who is not? Who can we identify with, and who is separated from our understanding of the world? And at what point does the economy of coming together produce “aliens” -- dark zones of non-recognition that make any kind of exchange impossible?
