Idee ja teostus / Creation and Performance: Kaja Kann

Liftis, väikses, kokkusurutud ruumis, peavad võõrad teineteisega aega vältimatu ajavahemiku jooksul, mis neil kulub oma ruumideni jõudmiseks. Liftikambris on võõrandumine ja lähedus omavahel vältimatult seotud, mille tulemuseks on ebamugav vaikus ja teadlik teineteise ignoreerimine. Eesti kunstnik Kaja Kann on festivali ajal LIFTis ja otsib hetke, kus võõrastest võivad saada sõbrad, kus ühiskondlike reservatsioonide barjäär muutub naeratuseks.
Koreograaf ja esineja Kaja Kann on mitmete truppide liige, nagu näiteks ZUGA ühendatud tansijad. Mitu aastat oli ta Kanuti Gildi SAALi loomenõukogu liige, aastatel 2001– 2010 oli ta noorte tsirkusetrupi OMAtsirkus kunstiline juht. Koos Juha Valkeapääga on ta asutanud bändi Lokaalis täna: Kann/Valkeapää. Hiljuti tegi ta koostööd Mart Kangroga viimase uues etenduses Talk To Me.

In an elevator, a tiny, cramped space, strangers have to inevitably share time in order to be brought to their respective rooms. Strangeness and intimacy are unavoidably interconnected, resulting in an uneasy silence and conscious ignorance. Estonian artist Kaja Kann who is staying in such a LIFT for the duration of the festival searches for the moment when strangers can become friends, when the barrier of social reservation turns into a smile.
The choreographer and performer Kaja Kann is member of several performance collectives like the united dancers of ZUGA. For many years she was part of the creative board of the Kanuti Gildi SAAL; from 2001 to 2010 she was the artistic head of the youth circus company OMAtsirkus. Together with Juha Valkeapää she has founded the band At Lokaal tonight Kann/Valkeapää. Recently she collaborated with Mart Kangro in his new performance Talk to Me.
