Kontsert-performansis Pieces on Music jagavad publikuga oma muusikat esinejad ja muusikud Eleonora Tikas ja Kalle Tikas. See, mis esmalt tundub nii lihtsana, on tegelikult keerukam protseduur. Kuidas jagada teistega muusikat, kui muusika on füüsiliselt haaramatu, sel pole kombatavat vormi? Kuidas saaks muusikast tõeline kingitus? Seega töötavad Eleonora ja Kalle selle kallal “kuidas materialiseerida muusikat ja jagada seda oma külastajatega nagu kingitust“. Nad võtavad osadeks taasesitusseadmed, teevad muusikat nende ülejääkidega ja lindistavad vahetult kassettidele oma miksi lauludest, häältest ja muusikast. Mäng esemete ja muusika vahel, muusikamasinate ja masinate muusika vahel. Muusikaline kingitus.
Eleonora Tikas on häälekunstnik, kes arendab oma sooloprojekte ja osaleb koostöödes nii performansite, installatsioonide kui avangard-jazz muusika kontekstis. Ta jagab oma huvi improvisatsiooni vastu Kalle Tikasega, mis on viinud lähedase ja intensiivse koostööni.
Kalle Tikas on muusik, kes komponeerib performansi ja teatri kontekstis, näiteks trupile ZUGA ühendatud tantsijad ning bändidele nagu Estonian Guitar Octet (EGO), Estonian Bad Dream Big Band või Beggars Farm. Tema muusikat on avaldatud erinevatel helikandjatel, nagu näiteks Beggars Farmi Klob (2009) või EGO Hostages Incidents (2010).
In Pieces of Music, Estonian performers and musicians Eleonora and Kalle Tikas share their music with their audience. What sounds very simple at first is in fact a more complex procedure. How do you share music with others since music is physically not graspable, has no tangible shape? How to make music into a real gift? Thus Eleonora and Kalle work on “how to materialize music and give it to their guests like presents”. They take apart playback devices, make music with the leftovers, and instantaneously tape their mix of songs, voices, and music on compact cassettes. An interplay of objects and music, of machines for music and the music of machines -- a gift of music.
Eleonora Tikas is an Estonian vocal artist who develops solo projects and participates in collaborative works in the context of performances, installations and avant-garde jazz music. She shares her interest in improvisation with Kalle Tikas which has led to a close and intense collaboration.
Kalle Tikas is an Estonian musician who composes works for theatre and performance like the united dancers of ZUGA, as well as for bands like the Estonian Guitar Octet (EGO), Estonian Bad Dream Big Band and Beggars Farm. His work is released on many records, including Beggars Farm’s Klob (2009) or EGO’s Hostages Incidents (2010).
